•Clematis-One of the most popular of all climbing
vines, clematis flowers are irrestistibly beautiful and indispensible
in the garden. Use them to liven up any dull space by growing them
on fences, arbors, pergolas, obselisks or even over large shrubs.
Hardy in zones 4-8. 
"Blue Angel"
Sky blue flowers with lighter central bars and yellow-green stamens.
Tepals have a fine silky texture and ruffled edges. 1992 Gold Medal
winner at Plantarium

"Multi-Blue" Deep blue double flowers.
Central tepals and the tips of the petals are both light silvery-blue.

•Gunnera tinctoria...From Patagonia, the land
that time forgot, comes this definition of dramatic! Leaves to 6 feet
across. Loves a pond or stream edge, wet/moist deep rich soil a must.
Clear away old leaves in fall and cover crown with dry leaves, branches
etc for winter mulch. Manure topdressing in spring and lots of water
gets you maximum leaf size. Flowers are like huge primeval pine cones
extending from crown. Sun if ample water or light shade. Not to be
missed!

Mature foliage is moonlike with fully silvered centers and deep green
edges ...spring flowers a bonus as the bright foliage brightens shady
corners so well. ‘Cevensis’ Clusters
of bright blue spring flowers top long, narrow leaves heavily blotched
with sparking silver. 10" tall 24" wide ‘Dark Vader’-Dark foliage
with silver spots...great contrast to Moonshine. ‘Jeepers Creepers’...creeping,
not leaping, groundcover form.

tuberous perennial increases quickly by offsets and by seed creating

•*Uvularia sessilifolia,Bellwort, A petite
woodlander from the NE which gently creeps about mingling with ferns
and Trillium. 9" tall. Neat little pale yellow bell flowers. Likes
loose woodsy moist soil.
•Verbascum...Sun/prt Sun, well-drained soil.
Tall spires with blooms of white with mauve or rosy purple centers
and purple with pink centers. Refreshingly unusual and lovely.
•Veronica, "Georgia Blue"...Sun/Part Sun, intense
bright true blue tiny blossoms cover this exhuberant vining bronze
leaved selection. We put them in hanging baskets, to come back each
year from Spring until the hard frost knocks them back in late Fall..
In mild winters it will not go dormant.
